Part of a nine piece series exploring herbalism and the miraculous force of plant medicine, this painting honors the uniquely beautiful vampire of the forest, Ghostpipe. This rare plant gets it’s beautiful ghostly white appearance from it’s utter lack of chlorophyll. instead of getting its nutrients from the sun, it generates it’s energy by sapping the nutrients and carbohydrates from the roots of trees with the help of mycorrhizal fungus in an advantageous 3-way symbiotic relationship.
