Part of my ‘Poisonous Plant Series’, This painting highlights the differences between these two breathtakingly beautiful plants. Brugmansia (Angel Trumpet) and Datura (Devil Trumpet) are commonly mistaken for one another, However, they are two completely different species. Brugmansia is an ornamental tree who’s flowers hang down from above. Datura is a ground dwelling shrub who’s flowers grow up from below. Both are strong Poisonous plants who’s powerful medicine has been used for centuries throughout the Americas for Shamanic purposes.
